Grant Counsel Responsibilities

  • HAGC Organization & Responsibilities: The HAGC shall inquire, inform, suggest, recommend and provide input on the direction and effectiveness of programs, services and scholarships including but not limited to:

  • Determination of the allocation of funds and any in-kind consideration pertaining to Hispanic programs, including funds generated by the Florida Hispanic Achievers License Plate, marketing efforts, manufacturer, and coordinating community, public/private partnerships.

  • Cultivate and collaborate efforts and determine allocation of funds, per Florida Law, to market and advertise the Hispanic Achievers License Plate to insure maximum exposure, sales and revenues, throughout the State of Florida.

  • Conduct assessments & provide guidelines and direction in preparation of application materials and budgets for said grants and review proposals.
  • Discuss pros and cons for each application, render decisions and specify dollar amounts and line item budget spending. Establish general terms and conditions for legal contracts, enforcement of grant agreements.  Conduct grants evaluations; measure program progress & determine positive outcomes for future funding.

  • Conduct pre and post-grant facility and site visits.

  • Inform and advise providers of programs funded by the proceeds of the Hispanic Achievers License Plate as to compliance/noncompliance with grant criteria and accompanying requirements of state and federal laws.

  • Develop and exchange strategies to assist stakeholders with programming, problem solving, information, and ideas.

  • Provide information to stakeholders on pertinent Hispanic/minority issues/legislation.

  • Advocate singularly, or in collaboration with other organizations, for the purpose of ensuring that all Hispanics have an opportunity to attain their maximum potential or achieve corporate leadership, accompanied with instruction by qualified professionals and paraprofessionals in appropriate environments/facilities that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

  • Provide representation on Hispanic and minority issues to organizations or committees requesting such.
